| The Query Manager lets you specify the search criteria for any (or all) nutrients. You tell NutriBase the upper or lower limits for as many nutrients as you wish. (This is sometimes called a Boolean AND search.) You can, for instance, locate all the foods that have at least 2 grams of Protein, no more than 360 mg of Sodium, no more than 30% of its calories from Fat, no more than 2 grams of Saturated Fat, at least 10 IU's of Vitamin E, and so on. You can specify as many or as few nutrients as you wish. You can even specify every nutrient in the database if you wish. When you have defined all of your search criteria, click the Search Button and NutriBase will display all the food items that meet your criteria.
Once you display the results of your query to the screen, you can view the nutrient data in a spreadsheet view, view the nutrient data in a split-screen view, view the nutrient data in a single-screen view, record a selected food item to the current user's intake record, add a selected food item a recipe, add a selected food item to the Personal Food Item list, view all of the nutrient data for the selected food item, view all of the nutrient and non-nutrient data contained in NutriBase for the selected food item, jump to the first occurrence of a particular food name or brand name, export selected data to an ASCII file, print selected data, close the screen to move on to other activities, or access help regarding this screen. |
